Wheaton Aston & Penkridge RUFC
(Rugby Club) established in 1981.
We celebrated our 25th Anniversary playing
league rugby last year (2007). We play and train at the Monckton Recreation Centre, Pinfold Lane, Penkridge. Training is every Wednesday 19:30 onwards. Past, present and future rugby players are always welcome and indeed anyone wishing to improve their overall fitness or rugby skills are always welcome. Anyone interested can either just turn up either on Wednesday or Saturday or can call the club phone number for further information on: 07948419778 We play national league rugby (Midlands 6 West North division 10) formerly the Staffordshire League and are members of the Staffordshire Rugby Union. We play home and away fixtures on Saturdays during September through to the end of April. Secretary of the Club is Jon Barclay - 01902 730614. |
| Penkridge Shotokan Karate Club - We train at St. Michael's School on a Friday night between 7.30 and 9.30. All ages, from 7 upwards are welcome. We have qualified instructors. At the Monckton Recreation Centre, Pinfold Lane (next to the Quality Hotel), from memory, the following sports are catered for: Soccer/Football; Rugby; Tennis (Club and Public); Badminton, Skateboarding area.
We have a Golf Course just outside the parish to the east on the Pottal Pool road.
We have an Indoor Leisure complex next to Wolgarston High School, which includes a small Swimming Pool. For swimming lessons see above.
