Peace Memorial Hall is set in the heart of the village and was built
in 1926. It is a Charity managed by a Committee dedicated to providing a
meeting place for various events throughout the year. Organisations or
individuals can hire the hall.
The interior of the hall was refurbished in 2006 and now features the open beam
structure and captures full natural light from the dormer windows with
additional modern electric lighting using a suspended twin wire system with
dimmable side spots.
Facilities:
- Main Hall approx. 20m x 10m
- Side Annex on each side 15m x 3m
- Full Stage with lighting and rear approach
changing room
- Separate Kitchen with serving hatch, 4-hob
gas cooker, central island preparation unit, providing some crockery - also
the availability to hire approx. 150 place settings with cutlery
- Separate bar area with washing up
facilities available for hire
- Ladies and Gents toilets with disabled
facility
- Front entrance lobby and separate disabled
access
- A small private parking area the rear
- Roadside parking to one side of the hall
(restrictions Saturday and Wednesday) with further parking nearby
Current hirers include Dramatic Society for staging plays and concerts, keep
fit and dance classes, private parties and variety shows, film shows and
dances.
The capacity is up to 150 seated people subject to layout.
The hall can be set out in a variety of ways, with tables and chairs, to
form theatre audience chairs only with food set out in side annexes or in
groups using both tables and chairs.
