NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH is FREE
It encourages caring communities where neighbours work together and look out for
each other, working in partnership with the police to guard against crime,
vandalism and many other problems.
A number of insurance companies will also give a discount to members of a
Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
If you would like to start a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in your area, or if you
would like more information, please contact
Vicki Singleton, Chase Policing Division Neighbourhood Watch Team, on
01785-235995
In Penkridge at the moment (5 April 2005) we have
schemes set up covering parts of most of the housing estates in the community.
However, there are gaps and we have two estates where there are no schemes and
these need to be addressed. To that end I (the Webmaster) am
approaching one or two people in those areas suggesting that they might like to
be involved in setting up a scheme in their neighbourhood. It can be
a whole road, or part of a road, a cul-de-sac, or just a group of 6 properties
facing each other, etc.
If you are interested in becoming involved and would like more information and
would like to register your interest, then either contact Vicki at the number
above or Paul Geoghegan, your Local Action Group Chairman on 713419 or
email Paul
