Guides Award

2nd Penkridge Guides would like to announce that four of their Guides have been awarded the Baden-Powell Challenge. This is a first for Girlguiding Penkridge .The Guides are: Charlotte Cooper, Jessica Legzdins, Clare Blanchard who are all 13 years old and Katie Lee who is 12 years old.

In order to gain the Baden- Powell Challenge they had to complete ten clauses from five different zones of the Guide programme. Each guide produced their own personal action plan and achieved their selected clauses over 12 months. The activities ranged from organising a Rainbow Christmas party to developing a web site for Guides, to a Japanese night and a mini olympics, from dance routines to helping raise funds at a cheese and wine evening. They even produced an email directory for the guide unit - we are now in the 21st century! The penultimate challenge was the Baden-Powell Adventure weekend where the guides took part in an exciting Murder and Mystery weekend in York.
