On Monday 27 September, at 9.30am, a group of Penkridge Fund Raisers began a 3 hour sponsored SILENCE inside (and outside) the Church Hall in Market Street, Penkridge.   This was organised by The Penkridge Goodies and the money raised will be going to the Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust.  Everyone who entered kept the silence, although it was difficult when the Town Crier walked the streets with his Collection Tin and entered shops - but somehow he got the message over and everyone donated happily.  What were we all doing in the Church Hall?  The pictures below will give you an idea - well, it is a "Reading Room" but no everyone was reading - knitting seemed to be a favourite - but no one went to sleep!  We were kept awake by constant cups of coffee and biscuits!
