First Penkridge 'BIG Fun-Run' is a runaway success

Penkridge and District Round Table, in conjunction with Princefield School PSA, organised the first Penkridge Big-Fun Day on Sunday. The years event was much bigger and better as Round Table have teamed up with Princefield School PSA to provide a fun packed afternoon for all the family including many side stalls, face painting, licenced bar the famous Round Table ‘mega-barbecue’ - which was a fabulous success and a total sell-out.

A record 342 entrants registered, with 318 completing the race. The youngest competitor was just a yr old (pushed along in a pram), and the oldest was 72. The fastest time on the day was recorded by A Blundell who finished first in a recorded time of just 11 mins 50 seconds.

Malcolm Newman who championed the event said "The day was a great success taking this superb community event to the next level. We hope all those that made it along will come again next year, when we plan to make the event even bigger with the support of both the local and wider communities. We received 8 enquiries for membership of Round Table on the day also - which proves without doubt that community spirit is alive an well in the Penkridge district".
