READING ROOM RENOVATIONS BEGIN in 2008 |
At a small ceremony inside the Reading Room, Market Street, the Rev'd Mick
Williams passed over the keys to Contractors. They will now
undertake complete internal and some external renovation of the Reading Room to
bring it up to date so it can provide improved community facilities for the
people of Penkridge of all ages.
Present at the ceremony were representatives of several organisations, including
the Parish Council and the Business Association, who have helped finance the
project.
Bob Stokes, who prepared the Business Plan and organised the project and fund
raising, was present, as were the Architects, the Builders, and the Rev'd
Caroline Plant, Team Vicar.
