Penkridge Events Diary
Please send details
of any event you would like to publicise by email to the
(webmaster at penkridge.org.uk) or phone him on 712733. We would suggest you do not publicise ordinary group meetings for your members,
but stick to events where the general public are invited and welcome. You
could be embarrassed if half of Penkridge turn up to a Committee Meeting!
And the webmaster will be embarrassed if he ever gets a date wrong - so please
tell me. Please always check with the organisers
of the events, just in case dates have changed
and we haven't been informed - but we will do our best
to make sure the information is accurate and up-to-date.
We would strongly advise all Penkridge organisations to include their major events in this Diary so that others do not organise an event that may clash.

Gailey’s Fabulous Food & Gift Fair
After last year’s successful event, Gailey Fruit Farm, near Penkridge will be hosting another Fabulous Food & Gift Fair this year, on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June. The Fair will take place between 10am and 4.30pm on both days and it’s free admission! There will be lots of delicious food and drink; gorgeous gifts and plenty of activities to keep the children entertained, making it a fantastic free day out for all the family.
The marquee will be brimming with local produce, with the chance to sample local delicacies from businesses such as Quartz Brewery; Just Oil; Halfpenny Green Vineyards and The Kitchens Fine Food Company, to name but a few. The Cheshire Cheese Company will be there with their fantastic selection of home-made cheeses including unusual flavours such as toffee and strawberry and champagne!
There will also be a wide range of stalls selling everything from luxury gifts; cards and jewellery to French clothing and stylish interiors. The Aga Factory Shop from Telford will also be coming along with a variety of their cast iron cookware, textiles and giftware.
The fruit fields will of course be open for those of you who want to ‘pick your own’, or if you don’t have time, then the Farm Shop will have freshly picked strawberries on sale, as well as a wide selection of fruit and veg.
If that’s not enough to get your taste buds going, there will be a variety of refreshments available, including a barbecue with local sausages, bacon and burgers; as well as traditional cream teas with home-made cakes, scones and jam.
Whilst you’re busy eating and relaxing, there will be plenty to keep the children entertained including Traction Engine Rides; face painting; sand art and hair braiding. John from ‘Animal Antics’ (www.animalantics.net) will also be there, with a variety of animals including Owls, snakes, lizards and even a tarantula!
With a wide selection of fabulous food and drink, as well as plenty to keep the children entertained, there couldn’t be a more relaxing place to spend your weekend.
